Dr. Kruzel covers what is known about porphyria as well as a discussion of the biochemistry of the development of the disease. Recent work suggests the condition isn't as rare as once thought. It is a condition which can be brought on by increased toxicological stresses on the body. Because conventional medicine has largely ignored the relationship between and development of symptoms, it is often regarded as a psychological disorder.
