The growth of integrative medicine has occurred simultaneously with a tremendous crisis in the Western healthcare system. While this may be considered an ideal environment for a new paradigm to emerge, it is in fact suffering from the same economic and political issues as the old. Just as conventional and alternative therapies have the potential for a balanced, synergistic union, naturopaths and allopaths may be either the perfect allies or the perfect antagonists in this new field.
