Melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer, is increasing in incidence faster than any other form of cancer. As primary care doctors we need to be aware of melanoma and able to recognize it in our physical exam. If detected early, most melanoma is curable by surgical resection. Unfortunately if the melanoma has begun to spread or metastasize, conventional medicine has few effective therapies. Naturopathic medicine can impact the growth and spread of melanoma, in some cases leading to remission.
