The pharmaceutical colchicine, extracted from Autumn Crocus, has anti-inflammatory and immune-lowering properties. Its usage by oral and intravenous route will be discussed for several conditions cited in the medical literature--cirrhosis of the liver, multiple sclerosis and degenerative disc disease.
