The core material of this course will explore the past and present medicinal applications of three anthraquinone glycoside herbs, Cassia, Rhamnus and Aloe. By working with this material medica, aspects of our herbal roots will be investigated and compared with the current knowledge, bringing about an integrated understanding. Through the study of formulations, the art of herbal medicine will be further solidified and the actions and interactions of these plant teachers will be better understood and clinically applied. A case study will be shared to leave the participants with a clinical story to substantiate the learning.
