Dr. Phair will be addressing a number of administrative issues that will have an impact on BC?s licensed naturopathic doctors who choose to prescribe. These will include, e.g., the legal requirements of a prescription; compounding prescriptions in clinic; Pharmanet ins and outs (such as the patient deductible, low cost alternative drugs, drugs not covered, legalities around accessing a drug); developing a protocol for office staff with access to files; the special authorization process; the special drug access process; NIHB (drug plan for status Indians); DVA (department of veterans affairs and what?s covered/what?s not); electronic medical records (billing MSP directly, generating a printed prescription, keeping patient medical records, what are the legalities around sharing patient data with software vendors or the government, etc.)
