There are many different types of diabetes, the most well-known being Type I and Type II. However, two very common types which are frequently unrecognized and misdiagnosed include Latent Auto-Immune Diabetes of the Adult, a slowly developing Type I diabetes seen in the adult population,
and Mature Onset Diabetes of Youth and Neonatal Diabetes, which strike our pediatric populations. Dr. Morstein will discuss diabetes in general, but with a focus on LADA and MODY-how to identify and treat-including some case histories of patients with LADA. Use of insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents will be included.
