Our ancestors tended wilderness, which became a vast, cooperative, "wild" garden. Actual agriculture, and all that it makes possible, is a recent experiment---only a dozen millennia---while the original abundant wildness of our food and medicine seems to be disappearing. How does it all look from the point of view of gatherers, gardeners, and healers? As medicine people, we can look backwards and forward together to gain insight into our roles in this era.
