The ASEV has selected Dr. Ann C. Noble as the 2006 recipient of the Merit Award, ASEV's highest honor.
Dr. Noble's research at UCD focused on the investigation of sensory and chemical factors which affect perception of flavor and acceptance, with an emphasis on wine. Her courses included basic sensory evaluation of wine and advanced descriptive analysis. Dr. Noble is also the creator of the Wine Aroma Wheel and the Sparkling Wine Aroma Wheel.
