The ASEV Technical Projects Committee has gathered a group of industry professionals from the wine regions of Oregon, Burgundy, California and, for the first time, New York. Oregon has built a reputation for Pinot noir, a history of excellence that will be highlighted in this international winemaking symposium. Alternating between locations in France and the United States, past joint symposia have been hosted in Dijon in 1997 and 2000 and Davis, CA in 1999. The audience will benefit from four focused discussion sessions, including clonal and site consideration, vineyard management techniques, winemaking techniques, and elevage and cooperage styles, followed by a debate on the latest advances in barrel making during lunch. A tasting of Pinots from each of the four wine regions will complete this informative day in a reception format.
