This lecture will review the basic immunology of vaccines, highlight the latest research on the benefits and risks of childhood vaccinations with guidelines for how to administer select vaccinations and optimal vaccination schedules that relate to the least potential for harm and the maximium potential for benefit including post-vaccination strategies and disease prevention for unvaccinated children.
