14th Left Coast Crime Conference, held this year at the Doubletree Hotel in Monterey California. The program will features tracks of panel discussions, interviews, movies, author presentations and 4 programs by Sisters in Crime on techniques of writing. Social events will include Open House at the World famous Monterey Aquarium, a showing of the film Devil in a Blue Dress with an introduction to the film by author, Walter Mosley. On Saturday evening, February 21st, there will be a two hour presentation (discussion and film) by author and film noir maven, Eddie Muller. A track on film noir will be presented on Friday and Saturday. Guest of Honor include authors Walter Mosley and Sharan Newman and a life time achievement award to author Richard A Lupoff. Bryan Barrett and Thom Walls will be recognized as Fan Guests of Honor. Books Awards include The Lefty (most humorous mystery of 2003) the Otter (best mystery 2003 involving the geographic area of Left Coast) and the Bruce Alexander Memorial History Book Award.
