In all treatment of diabetic patients, medications are not the problem; elevated blood sugars are. When physicians cannot wholly lower glucose levels to safe and protective levels using lifestyle change, diet and supplementation, medication is a valid benefit to T2DM patients. This lecture will discuss all the noninsulin oral and injectable hypoglycemic agents used with T2DM, as well as a discussion of using statin drugs, and ACEI/ARBs for kidney
protection.
