As clinicians, we recognize the immense changes that a woman?s body goes through during pregnancy, birth, and lactation. In the first year after pregnancy, a woman?s body undergoes immense transition once again as it returns to its prepregnancy, menstruating state. This presentation will review the changes that typically occur including regaining pelvic tone, perineal care, urinary incontinence, sexual function/comfort and hormonal transitions. Feel confident that you can identify "normal" and discern when an evaluation is needed versus when your best treatment is reassurance of mom.
