The Experimental Design Seminar serves as an introduction and overview to this crucially important, and often neglected, facet of the research process. The seminar will begin with an introduction to design and the important statistical tools available for analyzing data. The focus will then turn to practical issues of experimental design for enologists, viticulturalists and sensory scientists. Issues pertinent to graduate research, research publication and grant writing will be discussed. The session will end with presentations from recent best paper recipients as to how they designed their experiments.
