This course is full of expert clinical information, research updates and breaking news in the area of select acute and chronic infections, including gastrointestinal, cardiac, vaginal and lyme disease. In addition, in depth research on probiotics, botanicals and nutraceuticals and their use in infections will be presented in detail. A special part of the seminar will include the traditional/historical uses of botanicals for infections and how to make clinical decisions on formulating combination botanical products. Our acute and chronic infections for women seminar is suited for the practitioner who is working with or wants to work with women and wishes to develop their expertise in the use of evidence-based botanical and nutritional options, traditional botanical options, integrating select conventional medical treatments, and enhance their skills in evaluation and management. We are extremely thrilled to have an amazing collection of expert faculty and researchers for this high-caliber seminar. We have three returning nationally well-known speakers: Jeremy Appleton, N.D., Steven Sandberg-Lewis N.D. and Donald J. Brown, N.D. Jeremy Appleton, N.D., is known to many alternative practitioners familiar with his writings and educational presentations. His expertise is his timely and up-to-date knowledge on botanical and nutritional research with a focus on newer therapies to the market place and clinical practice. Steven Sandberg-Lewis, N.D., has been a professor at National College for many years, and has made his mark with his expertise in gastroenterology and known and loved for his splendid teaching. We welcome back Donald J. Brown, N.D., who is one of the leaders in the modern practice of evidence-based natural medicines. He brings us state of the science information on probiotics in prevention and treatment of infections. We are excited to have new to our faculty, the internationally well-known herbalist, Amanda McQuade Crawford, Dip. Phyto., MNIMH, RH (AHG). Amanda is a well-published author and well-known educator with 25 years of clinical and teaching experience in herbal medicine. Another new speaker for us will be Stacey L. Raffety, N.D., L.Ac. She is known amongst her colleagues for her expertise and lectures on lyme disease as well as environmental medicine. We are pleased to have someone with her level of expertise and experience in lyme disease. Also, new to our seminar faculty is Jeremy Mikolai, N.D. He has entered the second year of his residency in cardio-pulmonary medicine, is directing naturopathic cardiology research as well as a robust clinical practice. Tori Hudson, N.D. brings her depth and breadth of knowledge to update us in the more advanced clinical evaluation and treatment of vaginitis, especially those elusive, complex, resistant cases. We welcome our new speakers and welcome back our returnees. It is a rare opportunity to be educated by this fantastic group of speakers.
