We are very excited to have this new course content on obesity, overweight, weight loss, and hormone prescribing in perimenopause/menopause.

This course content is suited for the practitioner who is working with or wants to work with women who are overweight or obese and menopausal women. This seminar is for practitioners who want to enhance their ability to help women lose weight, stay up-to-date in the use of hormone prescribing in menopausal women, and develop and advance their skills in the use of compounded bio-identical hormones and conventional

HRT with a focus on specific and special clinical circumstances. A highlight of this weekend will be the appearance and lectures by Tieraona Low Dog, M.D. RH (AHG). Dr. Low Dog is a regular lecturer at our seminars, and we are privileged to have someone with her level of expertise and prominence in the field of integrative medicine and look forward to her two poignant topics. All women?s health clinicians are confronted almost daily with patients who are overweight or obese, whose health issues may be related to their weight, and who seek our guidance and skills in improving their health and assist them with weight management. We have created a line up of speakers to address a full spectrum of considerations; endocrinologist Jonathan Q. Purnell, M.D. giving us the latest scientific understanding of the endocrinology and physiology of weight gain and weight loss; researcher and bariatric surgeon Robert W. O?Rourke, M.D. educating us on the benefits and risks of the various obesity surgical options as well as the science of adipose tissue and the role of inflammation and immune function in that tissue. We also welcome back Bradley J. Bush, N.D. who in this lecture will outline the role of intestinal permeability, neurotransmitters and food sensitivities in appetite control and in weight loss. Tolle B. Murphy, N.D. will address the controversial topic of the HCG diet and HCG injections in weight loss including a review of the theory, mechanisms, research and protocols. Eric L. Stiverson, PharmD is a local pharmacist with expertise in compounding hormone prescriptions. We look forward to an increased understanding of the full spectrum of options and individualization of compounded hormone prescribing. Tori Hudson, N.D. brings a depth and breadth of knowledge to the topic of the integrative management of menopause that is difficult to find elsewhere. Her evidence based knowledge of bio-identical hormones and her 26 years of experience in menopause management are one of the features of this weekend. We are privileged to have this fantastic group of speakers and are excited about this dynamic seminar curriculum.
