It is the goal of the natural products industry to provide the highest quality products to the consumer while setting precedence for high standards with the federal agencies. With the expansion within the industry, there has been a wave of interest to provide a standarized amount of the bioactive molecule in every product. What does this mean, is it the only way to provide a quality product and how can this be implemented in the field prior to harvest? These questions, a general discussion on common terms in the industry and how to enhance the quality of the product from a botanical approach will be presented.
