DESCRIPTION: Diabetes, insulin resistance, obesity, and depression are extremely common sources of morbidity and are mortality risk factors as well. Normal TSH levels can lead physicians to frequently overlook underlying metabolic factors that can be addressed to help reduce the morbidity and mortality from these factors. In this evidence-based lecture, Dr. Cunningham will discuss thyroid treatment that can help in the treatment of obesity and depression.

OBJECTIVES:

1.To clearly demonstrate that "normal" thyroid function can prevent weight (fat) loss because of physiology that has remained unchanged in 40,000 years

2. Participants will learn the multi-factorial components contributing to obesity as well as the relationship between obesity and Type II Diabetes

3. Learn why many conventional diet and exercise programs do not work.

4. How to identify insulin resistance clinically.

5 .Participants will learn evidence-based use, safety and effectiveness of thyroid hormone in everyday practice based on 40 years of clinical experience in thousands of patients
