Lectins are involved with cell-to-cell communication and are especially prominent in red and white blood cell activity. Due to blood cell, lymph, bone marrow, GI, and spleen affinity, lectins affect the immune and vascular tissues in particular. Herbs such as Phytolacca, Viscum, Castor, Aesculus are high in lectins and are strong immune, lymph, and vascular modulators. Very current science and research will be presented, as well as the traditional herbal use of these plants.
