To help avoid adverse interference with concurrent drug therapy, herbs and foods that may interfere with the kinetics of conventional medicines are identified. Mechanisms by which plants affect absorption, metabolism and excretion of drugs and some potential carcinogens will be discussed, based on evidence from the scientific and medical literature.
