For 22 years, Kat has worked with an indigenous Mazatec curandero and his extended family, in rural Southern Mexico. His tradition and shamanic skills invoke psilocybin mushroom species, Salvia divinorum, home-grown tobacco saints, and other powerful elemental spirits. Kat has participated in these ceremonies while chronicling the evolution and scattering of this mostly female clan into a changing world. With her characteristic stories, Kat will share insights she has gathered into healing with plants, mushrooms and prayer, adapting to that which seems beyond our control and respecting traditions as they evolve into the future.
