The incidence of ASD has increased dramatically over the past 10 years, from one child in 150 in 2002, to one in 88 in 2011. Families dealing with this difficult challenge have damaged children, overwhelmed family structures, huge medical and special service costs and a need for answers. In this class, we will discuss what Autism Spectrum Disorders are, the potential causes of ASD, conventional treatment and look at the use of diet, herbs, nutritional supplements and other CAM therapies to help these children and adults to live healthier and more functional lives.
