Outpatient, office-based Peripheral Intravenous Nutrition (PIN) has unique features including high osmolality, high infusion rates, and short infusion duration that have not been explored in the literature. PIN studies can be used to estimate safety parameters for outpatient, office-based PIN. This talk focuses on safety parameters surrounding the administration of IV infusions of such things as vitamins, minerals and amino acids in an out-patient office setting.
